Maybe Kazmir (and that trade was universally regarded as a horrible one seconds after it was consummated)? It feels more like luck than anything - I'm sure you can look at any team that hasn't made the World Series the past few years and they probably have a number of former players who have made the most recent World Serieses. I'm not really sure what it means that a number of teams' 21st through 25th men on their roster are former Mets, but it's likely nothing significant.
