Hello and welcome to MiracleMets.net. Before you ask, yes, MiracleMets.com was already taken. Anyway, this is a new blog I am starting that will deal mostly with the New York Mets. Obviously, though, news about other NL East teams would affect the Mets, so when a major news item hits about them, you can find info on that as well. The Mets also share a city with the New York Yankees, so if a Yankees story should hit that would make any Mets fan say “God damn Yankees,” that will also be linked here. Finally, sometimes there will just be a major story in the game of baseball that should be linked to here, and you’ll also find those here as well.
But the meat and potatoes of this site is going to be the New York Mets. During the offseason (the time we’re in right now), you’ll find hot stove discussion here, such as who the papers are saying the Mets are pursing and how I feel about that. During spring training, I’ll have notes about battles being won or lost, minor leaguers who are impressing, things of that nature. And during the season, after every game, and even on off days, you’ll find links to articles, game notes, minor league discussion, everything you could possibly care to read about the New York Mets. That’s what we’re all about here. For now, we’re a one man show, but I’m always welcome to reader submissions. I’ll post a link where you can send me writing samples, and if I like your voice and your style, I’ll add you to the team. So, take a look around, leave comments, do whatever you want, but keep checking back here, as we will have daily updates for you right here at MiracleMets.net. Welcome to the team!

FUCK YOU.
A Mets blog… A noble pursuit indeed.
Allow me to just go on record right now and say that I don’t think that going after Manny is a good idea. If he were a free agent I would say okay, but to give up your entire farm system and Mike Cameron for an aging, moody definsive liability isn’t really smart baseball.
I also am not on the Manny bandwagon, for all the reasons you stated (and all the reasons I stated in my latest blog item). I kind of like the idea of going after Soriano, because he fills more of a hole than Manny does, but I have a feeling the Rangers are going to want entirely too much in return for him, and would not want Cameron. We’ll have to wait to see what they do, but I’m not of the opinion that they need to do TOO much…some cheap, effective bullpen help and some more pop, and I think they’ll be fine. It would also be nice if they could find some OBP to get Reyes out of the leadoff spot, but there just isn’t a leadoff hitter out there available other than Johnny Damon, and they already have two center fielders.
I thoroughly enjoy reading anything related to the best baseball team out there especially by such a gifted writer. On the Mets, first priority is to sign Wagner! I don’t care if he is 34. He was practically untouchable this year. He had the best E.R.A. of any reliever in the NL. He throws 100 and has a nasty curve. Guess who was 2nd? Aaron Heilman. If they don’t get Wagner, use Heilman in the closer role. He throws 95 MPH, has a wicked change up that just dies at the plate. Secondly, the Mets need offense. Trading for Ramirez would be incredible because he’s going to give u 35 hr’s and 120 RBI’s at Shea. Second base should be a fight between Anderson Hernandez and Kaz Matsui (who has no trade value). First base, give Jacobs a shot. Ramirez and Wagner with the rest of the Mets team from last year will get them into the playoffs.
